Household Hazardous Waste

HHW survey Household hazardous materials cannot be disposed of in the landfill because of their caustic properties and potential for environmental contamination. The County has established a collection program where residents can drop-off these materials to then be properly disposed of by a certified Household Hazardous Waste contractor.

Currently, HHW materials are only accepted twice per month, once at each of two designated locations. HHW materials are accepted at the North Wake Solid Waste Managment Facility on the 1st Saturday and at the South Wake Solid Waste Management Facility on the 3rd Saturday.
